Susan has been singing since she was a very small girl. Her father has a recording of her singing "Glory Glory Hallelujah" from when she was 7 years old. It drove her family crazy as it was the one song she sang over and over and over!!! She officially joined choir when she was in 6th grade and hasn't looked back.
In 1983 she was fortunate enough to be chosen out of 200 people to be one of 40 to tour Tokyo, Japan for one week. Students were chosen from Willowbrook and Addison Trail High Schools as they were nominated the top two schools in the country for their choir. It was the opportunity of a lifetime! Susan sang at the American Embassy, performed for a Womens Group, as well as sang with several schools from the Tokyo area in one big concert. She was able to visit Buddhist temples, climb aboard a naval ship and sing her heart out everywhere they went. "Music is part of my soul and always has been, it influences my mood and helps to determine it as well. It is healing for every emotion"
In high school she had several solos and got a glimpse into that spotlight and the joy from singing in front of people. "When you look out and people are singing along and dancing and smiling it just feeds your energy, its amazing!"
Later in life she joined a country band called Coyote Moon first singing backup vocals and playing keyboards for several years before then becoming a lead vocalist. . Through her employment she was able to meet John Kufrin from ED, attended a practice and was asked to join the band. "They needed a chick for the band :-) "
Ed was together many many years before parting ways. Susan, John and Tony from ED then joined forces with Vick, Tom and Mike to form Vital Signs Band. "Musically i couldn't ask for a better group of people. Its nice that there are no egos in the way. We all play because we love the music". Susan looks forward to many more years with Vital Signs.
