Susan has been singing since she was a very small girl. Her father has a recording of her singing "Glory Glory Hallelujah" from when she was 7 years old. It drove her family crazy as it was the one song she sang over and over and over!!! She officially joined choir when she was in 6th grade and hasn't looked back.
In 1983 she was fortunate enough to be chosen out of 200 people to be one of 40 to tour Tokyo, Japan for one week. Students were chosen from Willowbrook and Addison Trail High Schools as they were nominated the top two schools in the country for their choir. It was the opportunity of a lifetime! Susan sang at the American Embassy, performed for a Womens Group, as well as sang with several schools from the Tokyo concert in one big concert. She was able to visit Buddhist temples, climb aboard a naval ship and sing her heart out everywhere they went. "Music is part of my soul and always has been, it influences my mood and helps to determine it as well. It is healing for every emotion"
In High School Susan landed several solos. The first being "The Boy From New York City'. This gave her Susan her first glimpse of life in the spotlight and she was hooked! Senior year she performed "People" as a solo in a crowded auditorium.
Later in life she joined a country band called Coyote Moon first singing backup vocals and playing keyboards for several years before then becoming a lead vocalist. . Through her employment she was able to meet John Kufrin from ED and because they played a Christmas function she was able to meet the rest of the band. She sang a song with them that night. She was asked then to join them at a rehearsal to see if she might be a fit for the band.
That was when she officially joined ED!!! Susan says "ED is my extended family. I love working with each and every one of these guys they are all incredible people as well as talented musicians! We have so much fun together and it's great to be around people who love to play and leave the egos at home!" Since ED has parted ways she has stayed with John and Tony of ED and has added Mike, Tom and Vic to form Vital Signs in early 2009. "I look forward to our musical future together, it has already been a blast!"
